Laws, regulations and guidelines in the financial market area

Legal rules applicable to the financial market comprise both laws, which are prepared by the Ministry of Finance and, in some cases, the Ministry of Justice, and implementing decrees and provisions, which are usually issued by the CNB. In order to support market participants, the CNB also issues many explanatory documents and guidelines in the form of official information and answers to enquiries. EU authorities are also increasingly issuing directly binding regulations and guidelines.

The following pages provide an overview of the legal rules and guidelines relating to individual areas of the financial market. For the easier orientation, they are classified by groups of financial market entities or when appropriate by subject matter in areas that generally concern the entire financial market.
