CNB Board decision on financial stability

The Bank Board of the Czech National Bank decided to increase the countercyclical capital buffer rate by 25 bp to 1.5% with effect from 1 July 2027. The decision is motivated above all by strong and broad-based lending activity, an increase in household and corporate debt and ongoing growth in apartment prices, which is contributing to a further build-up of cyclical systemic risks associated with the growth phase of the domestic financial cycle. At the same time, the Bank Board decided to leave the rules for mortgage lending and the systemic risk buffer rate unchanged.
