The seminar will take place on Friday, 26 September 2025, starting at 4:00 PM in the Congress Centre, immediately following the Second Annual Czech National Bank Conference.  Attendance is limited to invited participants only.

Richard Portes is Professor of Economics at London Business School, Founder and Honorary President of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and Co-Founder of Economic Policy. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and the British Academy. He has chaired the European Systemic Risk Board’s Advisory Scientific Committee and now co-chairs its groups on Non-bank Financial Intermediation and Crypto Assets. He is also Academic Director of the AQR Asset Management Institute at LBS, and a founding member of the Bellagio Group and the Euro50 Group.

Professor Portes previously taught at Princeton, Oxford (as Official Fellow of Balliol, now Honorary Fellow), and Birkbeck. He was the inaugural Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa Chair at the European University Institute, and has held visiting professorships at UC Berkeley and Columbia Business School. He holds three honorary doctorates, has published extensively on sovereign debt, European financial markets, monetary policy, and international capital flows, and was appointed CBE in 2003.
