Banking Supervisors from Central and Eastern Europe (BSCEE)
The main activity of the Group of Banking Supervisors from Central and Eastern Europe (BSCEE, external link), consisting of 25 institutions from 24 countries, is cooperation in the field of banking supervision. The CNB is a founding member of the group, which was established in 1991. Its activities include supporting research, training and educational programmes, as well as all activities related to the work of its members; promoting and encouraging close cooperation and communication among banking supervisory authorities in Central and Eastern Europe; helping to strengthen their functions; serving as a high-level forum for technical discussion; organising conferences; facilitating the exchange of experience regarding banking supervision techniques, information and know-how; assisting with integration into the European system of banking supervision; and representing its members in relation to the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS).
Within the group, there is a regular exchange of information and experience in the field of regulation and supervision (e. g., in the form of questionnaires or submitted enquiries). Each year, the CNB sends the BSCEE a written contribution containing information on macroeconomic developments in the Czech Republic, developments in the banking sector, the main strategic objectives of banking supervision, banking supervisory activities, and other relevant information, including statistical tables. CNB representatives also participate annually in the BSCEE’s annual conferences.
