The Czech National Bank has a new website

The official website of the Czech National Bank has a new design and enhanced functions. The navigational elements and the ordering of the sections are consistent with long-term analyses of CNB website visitor traffic and are also in line with the practices of similar institutions in Europe and around the world.

“The new design and new, enhanced functions of the CNB website will make it easier for users to access information about the CNB and will help the CNB to fulfil its statutory objectives,” said CNB spokesman Marek Petruš.

The new website features, among other things, more user-friendly and efficient navigation based on a horizontal main menu containing nine sections. An animated presentation on the home page draws attention to the latest news about the bank. Regular visitors can create a customised menu containing the pages they visit most frequently by adding them to “My links”. Users can easily subscribe to notifications of updates to selected CNB website pages.

The media information section is located in a vertical menu on the left hand side and also in the footer of the home page, from where it can be accessed constantly. For other users, the footer contains, among other things, a set of most frequent searches and useful links.

Despite the changes to the design and the enhanced functions of the CNB website, the poll on the design of the coin commemorating 20 years of the CNB and the Czech currency is continuing uninterrupted. Members of the public can cast their votes on the CNB website at http://www.cnb.cz/mince20let (in Czech only) until 12 midday on 5 December 2011. Votes submitted using the previous form on the now disconnected version of the CNB website will of course remain valid and will be included in the selection of the winning design of the coin.
