The monetary and financial statistics comprise a set of statistics compiled and published by the Czech National Bank for the purposes of monetary policy and financial stability and for the needs of the European System of Central Banks. They monitor stocks, transactions, interest rates and growth rates for selected items in the sectoral balance sheets of financial institutions. Financial market statistics also form part of this statistical area.
Interest rates on new business in August were characterised by several contrasting month-on-month movements. For household deposits, changes were concentrated mainly in deposits with agreed maturity, while for non-financial corporations the rate on overnight deposits changed more markedly. On the lending side, the most significant change for households was recorded in loans for house purchase, while for non-financial corporations it was recorded mainly in loans of over CZK 7.5 million.
The volume of loans to resident households and non-financial corporations increased again in August 2026 compared with the previous month. Loans to households rose by 0.7%, while loans to non-financial corporations increased by 1.3%.
The quality of the loan portfolio remains very good. The share of non-performing loans to households remained close to its historical low recorded in June 2026. As regards non-financial corporations, the share of non-performing loans is at its lowest level since monitoring began in January 2002.
