The government finance statistics capture the economic activities of the general government sector. They provide data on revenue, expenditure, the balance, debt and its structure, and transactions in financial assets and liabilities. The published tables are based on harmonised European methodologies, in particular ESA 2010 and the Manual on Government Deficit and Debt, and are used to analyse public finance developments.
