The Statement of Vice-Governor Zdeněk Tůma on Inflation in November
8.12.1999
"Price development in November was in line with our expectations. A halt in the decline in food
prices and, despite the seasonal influence, a moderate rise in these prices is being confirmed.
Moreover, I believe that "imported inflation". i.e. growth in import prices, particularly in
relation to oil prices, is gradually starting to emerge. I do not expect any radical changes in
inflation in the future. I expect that next month will confirm the turnaround towards a modest rise
in inflation," stated Vice-Governor Zdeněk Tůma, commenting on the November inflation figures.
