The CNB comments on the May 2002 inflation figures
10.6.2002
The month-on-month decline in the May consumer prices resulted from a fall in strongly volatile
items (food, fuels, regulated prices). Other non-regulated prices were flat in month-on-month
terms. The May inflation, despite a slight drop below the expected level, is in principle in line
with the CNB´ forecast. The assumptions of a low-inflation trend supported by the exchange rate
development are being confirmed.
