The CNB comments on the April 2004 inflation figures
10.5.2004
The Czech Statistical Office today released the consumer price inflation figures for April.
Month-on-month inflation was slightly lower than the CNB's April 2004 forecast. This deviation
reflects the slower-than-expected growth in food prices, non-food market prices excluding fuels as
well as fuel prices. The month-on-month decrease in regulated prices, attributable mostly to a fall
in prices of natural gas for households, was also a bit deeper than predicted by the CNB. The CNB
continues to expect annual consumer price inflation to pick up gradually during 2004.
