M. Hampl: Economic Outlook Unchanged

By Peter Laca (Bloomberg 7.4.2011)

Czech central bank Deputy Governor Mojmir Hampl said his outlook on the economy hasn’t changed since the last policy meeting and today’s quarter-point interest rate increase by the European Central Bank hasn’t altered his view “significantly.”

Hampl, who voted to hold rates at the last meeting on March 24, told reporters in Prague that domestic demand remains subdued and he is closely watching external developments.

The Czech central bank board next meets on monetary policy on May 5.
