CNB sells building in Ústí nad Labem
The Czech National Bank (CNB) has sold its building in Ústí nad Labem. The new owner is the Ministry of the Interior – Police Presidium of the Czech Republic, which submitted the highest bid of CZK 43 million. The sale was approved by the CNB Bank Board on 8 January 2026.
The sale of the Ústí nad Labem building forms part of the CNB’s long-term strategy aimed at managing its assets efficiently, optimising its costs and concentrating its activities in more operationally efficient premises. For several years, the CNB has used only part of the building. Under an agreement with the new owner, it will continue to use the currently occupied premises under a commercial lease until the end of 2026. From 2027, it will communicate with clients predominantly through digital channels. This will contribute to increasing the quality and speed of cashless services across all regions.
The intention to sell the CNB building in Ústí nad Labem was announced in 2025. The transaction was brokered by Cushman & Wakefield, which handled advertising, viewings and the evaluation of bids. Interested parties were able to submit bids in several rounds, with the final phase conducted using a sealed-bid procedure. The Police Presidium’s bid of CZK 43 million was assessed as the highest and the most favourable in economic terms.
