Turnovers on the money market in the week of 15–19 January 2024
The survey on the daily average turnovers on the money market is carried out by the Czech National Bank regularly four times a year – always in January, April, July and October.
As compared to October figures the daily average turnover of deposit operations increased from CZK 17 bln. to CZK 26.1 bln. that was driven mainly by growth in trades with non-residents. Their share on the total volume reached 92 percent. In terms of maturity, the most significant were those with the O/N maturity and their percent share reached 90 percent. The volume of repo operations increased almost by 80 percent in comparison to last survey and their share on the total turnover reached 66 percent.
The turnover of derivative transactions IRS (Interest Rate Swap) increased by 47 percent as compared to October figures due to trades with residents. Volume of FRAs (Forward Rate Agreement) decreased by 97 percent.
