Turnovers on the money market in the week of 16 - 20 January 2023
The survey on the daily average turnovers on the money market is carried out by the Czech National Bank regularly four times a year – always in January, April, July and October.
As compared to October figures the daily average turnover of deposit operations increased from CZK 32.6 bln. to CZK 66.5 bln. that was driven mainly by growth in trades with non-residents. Their share on the total volume reached 93.6 percent. In terms of maturity, the most significant were those with the maturity from 1 week to 1 month comprising 53.3 percent share of the total turnover. The volume of repo operations increased by 28 percent in comparison to last survey and their share on the total turnover reached 24 percent.
The turnover of derivative transactions IRS (Interest Rate Swap) increased by 80 percent as compared to October figures. On the contrary, volume of FRAs (Forward Rate Agreement) decreased almost by 80 percent when all trades were carried out with non–residents.
