Mojmír Hampl and Vladimír Tomšík appointed CNB Vice-Governors

The current Vice-Governors of the Czech National Bank Mojmír Hampl and Vladimír Tomšík will serve on the CNB’s supreme governing body for a second term of office. They were appointed to the CNB Bank Board for another six years with effect from 1 December 2012 at Prague Castle by the President of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus.

Mojmír Hampl, MSc., Ph.D. (aged 37) and Prof. Vladimír Tomšík, Ph.D. (aged 38) were reappointed as CNB Vice-Governors for a second six-year term.

The Bank Board is the supreme governing body of the CNB and its main tasks include taking decisions on monetary policy, on measures in the financial market supervision area and on the issuance of banknotes and coins.

The Bank Board has seven members. The CNB Governor is Miroslav Singer and the other Bank Board members are Lubomír Lízal, Kamil Janáček, Pavel Řežábek and Eva Zamrazilová. Bank Board members are appointed for six years and none of them can hold the position of Bank Board member more than twice.
