Executive Director of the CNB Resolution Department

With effect from 1 November 2014, Radek Urban became the Executive Director of the Czech National Bank’s Resolution Department. The Bank Board decided on his appointment at its meeting on 30 October 2014 on the basis of a selection procedure.

Radek Urban (49) graduated from the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Economics, Prague. Between 1990 and 2001 he was employed at the State Bank of Czechoslovakia and the Czech National Bank. Thereafter he worked at Česká spořitelna as Section Director. He held the position of Managing Director at Investiční společnost České spořitelny. He was employed as Deputy Minister of Finance until March 2014 and Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Finance from April 2014. Mr Urban speaks English, German and French.
