Turnovers on the money market in the week of 13 – 17 April 2020
The survey on the daily average turnovers on the money market is carried out by the Czech National Bank regularly four times a year – always in January, April, July and October.
As compared to January 2020 figures the daily average turnover of deposit operations increased from CZK 25,1 bln. to CZK 29,7 bln. that was driven mainly by rise (by 22 percent) in trades with non-residents. Their share on the total volume reached almost 86 percent. In terms of maturity, the most significant were those with the O/N maturity, comprising 74 percent share of the total turnover. The volume of repo operations drop by 58 percent and their share on the total turnover reached 35 percent.
The turnover of derivative transactions IRS (Interest Rate Swap) increased by 124 percent in comparison to January figures due to rise in trades with nonresidents and their share on the total volume reached to 87 percent. FRAs (Forward Rate Agreement) were not traded at all in the surveyed period.
