Plan of technical assistance to be provided by the CNB in 2008
On 11 October 2007 the CNB Bank Board discussed and approved the plan of technical assistance to be provided by the Czech National Bank to partner central banks in other countries in 2008.
The CNB has been providing technical assistance for seven years now and has become highly sought-after in this area thanks to its focus on thematic seminars and highly specialised consultations. Foreign participants appreciate the CNB's experience with the transformation process and integration into European and international structures as well as its focus on applying current economic knowledge and best foreign experience.
Eight seminars are planned for 2008, focused for example on inflation targeting, financial stability, payment systems, human resources management and the CNB's experience of operating within the ESCB. The seminars are targeted primarily at central banks in transforming economies seeking membership of the EU and in the countries of the former Soviet Union and the Balkans. The CNB's activities in this area are beneficial to both sides. CNB experts also take part in missions of the International Monetary Fund and other international organisations. Opportunities to become involved in joint EU-funded projects with other central banks are opening up as well.
As in past years, the 2008 seminar programme will be published on the CNB's website.
