Opening hours at the CNB Exhibition in the summer months
Almost 5,000 people visited the CNB headquarters building during the CNB Open Day. We have good news for those who couldn’t make it. The exhibition “People and Money” about the history of the central bank and the Czech currency will remain open to the public for free in the summer months. This will be an ideal opportunity to visit the exhibition outside the academic year, when it is open mainly to pupils and students.
Since it opened in early 2002, the exhibition has become part of the economic curriculum. During the tour, visitors can explore the history of central banking in the Czech lands, view banknotes and coins and check whether their own banknotes are genuine. The exhibition is installed in a former strong-room guarded by an original 8-tonne safe door.
Entry to the CNB Exhibition is free. Tours are guided and in groups of no more than 34 persons for safety reasons. Wheelchair access is available.
In the summer months, i.e. July and August 2016, the exhibition is open Tuesday to Friday (except public holidays) in the following time slots:
9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Please make bookings for large groups (six persons or more) by phone on 224 412 626 or 224 413 913 or by e-mail at expozice@cnb.cz.
Individuals and smaller groups of up to five persons may book by phone or e-mail (see above) or by using the on-line booking system on the CNB website.
