New method of publication of lists of supervised entities active on the Czech financial market
The Czech National Bank1) publishes lists of selected financial market entities it supervises or registers. Following the integration of supervision into the CNB on 1 April 2006, the CNB took over the methods and forms of publication of lists of financial market entities used by the former supervisory authorities (the Ministry of Finance, the Office for Supervision of Credit Unions and the Czech Securities Commission). It also started to prepare a new information system integrating the fragmented records and diverse practice in the publication of lists of financial market entities on the CNB website.
The first stage of the new system, which will present the currently active financial market entities in a unified and centralised manner using direct searching (by name or identification number) or 37 basic lists (by entity type, sector or name), was launched today. Each entity is also presented in an identity file containing more detailed information. The system of registration and methods of publication of lists of insurance intermediaries and non-bank foreign exchange entities remain unchanged at this stage.
The presentation is planned to be extended in 2009 to include tracking of an entity’s history, related links and roles and statistics on the number of entities. Moreover, some data and terms may be added and revised gradually.
