New Executive Director of the Financial Market Supervision Department

Zuzana Silberová is becoming Executive Director of the CNB’s Financial Market Supervision Department. The CNB Board appointed her to this post at its meeting today with effect from 24 February. Ms Silberová was made Deputy Executive Director of this department in 2008 and Acting Executive Director on 13 January 2017.

Zuzana Silberová graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Masaryk University in Brno and the University of Economics in Prague. She also passed a certified long-term training programme at the Czech Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA). After completing her studies she worked as a special assistant in the departments of mathematics at universities in Brno and Prague. She joined the Czech National Bank in 1994. She was appointed Director of the Insurance Supervision Division in 2006 and worked as Deputy Executive Director of the Financial Market Supervision from 2008. She has been an alternate member of the boards of the EBA and EIOPA since 2011 and a member of EIOPA’s Financial Stability Steering Committee since 2016. She speaks English and Russian.
