Jan Frait appointed Deputy Executive Director of the Economic Research and Financial Stability Department of CNB Headquarters

At its meeting on 27 September 2007 the CNB Bank Board decided to appoint Mr Jan Frait to the post of Deputy Executive Director of the CNB's Economic Research and Financial Stability Department with effect from 1 October 2007.

Professor Frait (42) graduated from the Faculty of Economics at VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, where he completed his doctoral studies in economics in 1995. From 1990 he lectured at this University and held various academic positions. In 2000 he was appointed a member of the CNB Bank Board by the President of the Czech Republic. Since his term of office came to an end in 2006 he has been working at the CNB as an adviser. As Deputy Executive Director Professor Frait will be responsible primarily for financial stability analyses.
