Change in rates: 2W repo rate 14%, discount rate 11.5%, Lombard rate 16%

The CNB Board evaluated the latest inflation outlook and decided to cut its base interest rates, effective August 14, 1998, as follows:

  • the discount rate from 13% to 11.5%
  • the Lombard rate from 19% to 16%
  • the limit two-week repurchase rate from 14.5% to 14%
