CNB website outage

The official website of the Czech National Bank www.cnb.cz was shut down on the morning of 6 March 2013 by a massive cyber attack on the external server that hosts the CNB website.

The CNB communicated with the public through its official profiles on Twitter and Facebook while the site was displaying incorrectly and could not be updated.

The CNB website began to work normally again during the afternoon. All the information that was supposed to be published is now available on the site.

We apologise for any difficulties experienced by visitors to the CNB website due to the outage,” said CNB spokesman Marek Petruš.

The CNB’s internal IT systems operated throughout the day without any disruptions.
