CNB reserves drop by EUR 295 million

On 9 August 2000 the CNB repaid its maturing obligation in the amount of JPY 35 billion (ca EUR 295 million, CZK 10.5 billion). This obligation dates back to 1993 when the CNB borrowed on the samurai market (Bloomberg ticker CZECNB 6.6 08/00 Corp) to boost its foreign reserves. The current level of the CNB foreign exchange reserves drops by an equivalent amount.
