New Director of the Economic Research Department

With effect from 1 January 2015, Kamil Galuščák (43) will become the Executive Director of the Czech National Bank’s Economic Research Department. The Bank Board decided on this change at its meeting on 11 December 2014.

Kamil Galuščák graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague. In 1998 he undertook a traineeship at University College London. In 2002 he obtained a PhD in economics at CERGE-EI. He has been working at the CNB since 2000, at first in the Monetary and Statistics Department. From 2007 he served as an adviser in the Economic Research Department and later on became Deputy Executive Director. From January 2011 he was in charge of the economic research unit. Since May 2014, he has been in charge of the Economic Research Department. Kamil Galuščák speaks English.
