Plan of foreign technical assistance

On 9 October 2008 the CNB Bank Board discussed and approved the plan of technical assistance provided by the Czech National Bank to partner central banks in other countries for 2009.

The CNB’s more than eight years of involvement in the area of foreign technical assistance demonstrate its openness towards the requirements of other central banks. Thanks to its experience with the transformation process and integration into European and international structures, as well as its focus on applying current economic knowledge and best international practices, the CNB has become a sought-after institution. At the same time, the feedback from participants of the seminars and consultations organised both in Prague and in target countries is beneficial also to CNB experts.

Eight seminars are planned for 2009, focused, for example, on inflation targeting, financial stability, payment systems, statistics, human resources management and the CNB’s experience of operating within the ESCB. Next year, consultations will take place not only in the CNB, but also in partner central banks. This approach will have a wider and more targeted impact.

CNB experts also take part in joint projects of the European System of Central Banks coordinated by the ECB and in missions of the IMF and other international organisations.

As in past years, the 2009 seminar programme will be published on the CNB’s website.
