Announcement of the Czech National Bank on a change of exchange rates publishing as of 2 January 2008

With effect from 1 January 2008 Cyprus and Malta will adopt Euro, which will replace the local currencies Cypriot Pound (CYP) and Maltese Lira (MTL).

 

In connection with this change the Czech National Bank will implement a change of exchange rate publishing with effect from 2 January 2008. CYP a MTL will be replaced by Brazilian Real (BRL) and Mexican Peso (MXN). The exchange rates effective from 31 December 2007, which will be set on 31 December 2007, will be published in the existing form.

The new list of exchange rates effective from 2 January 2008, which will be set on 2 January 2008, will not contain the Cypriot Pound and Maltese Lira. However, it will contain Brazilian Real and Mexican Peso.

Under the Act on Accounting and other legal norms, the exchange rates are used for non - business purposes (valuing assets and liabilities, tax and customs proceedings, etc).
