Launch of publication of the sectoral balance sheet of financial corporations engaged in lending in the Monetary Statistics publication
The balance sheet of financial corporations engaged in lending (FCLs) has been added to the data published in the Monetary Statistics publication as from August 2006. In line with Guideline ECB/2003/2 and Decree No. 307/2004 Coll., FCLs submit a sectoral breakdown of balance sheet assets and liabilities for the purpose of monetary analyses. FCLs include companies which are principally specialised in granting credit or loans or entering into agreements of a similar nature (e.g. financial leasing, factoring, consumer credit, hire purchase etc.) and which are residents of the Czech Republic.
The FCL statistics together with the banking statistics offer a more comprehensive overview of the indebtedness of households and non-financial corporations towards banks and, newly, non-banking financial institutions. The reported data are not consolidated in terms of territory or institutions. The data are published quarterly.
The FCL statistics also continue to be published in the ARAD time series system and on the CNB Monetary and Banking Statistics website in section D. Statistics of other financial intermediaries. The initial version of the FCL statistics does not yet include data for factoring companies.
The Monetary Statistics publication will be released in accordance with the Schedule of CNB data publishing as from November 2006.
