Information on the SRB decision regarding Sberbank Europe AG

The Czech National Bank wishes to point out that the Single Resolution Board (SRB) decision of 1 March 2022 regarding Sberbank Europe AG (external link) and its subsidiaries in Austria, Slovenia and Croatia does not affect Sberbank CZ.

The preliminary CNB measure of 28 February 2022 prohibiting Sberbank CZ from accepting deposits, providing loans and purchasing assets with a risk weight higher than zero is still in place. The situation has not changed.

The problems of Sberbank CZ are being addressed in accordance with national legislation and the CNB - as the Czech banking sector's supervisory authority - is continuing with the administrative proceedings on the revocation of its banking licence.
