Lumír Šatran appointed Director of the Moravia Regional Division
At its meeting on 8 October 2026, the Bank Board of the Czech National Bank (CNB) appointed Lumír Šatran Director of the Moravia Regional Division in the Cash and Payments Department following a successful selection procedure. He will take up the position on 1 November 2026. He joins the CNB from the Fire Rescue Service of the Olomouc Region. Until he takes up his post, the division will continue to be headed by Jakub Žák, who was appointed by the Bank Board to manage it on an interim basis following the departure of its former director in August.
Lumír Šatran graduated in Business Economics from the Faculty of Operation and Economics of Transport and Communications of the University of Žilina, where he obtained his degree in 2006. He began his professional career in 1989 as a security systems technician at Czech Railways. From 1993, he worked in the Customs Administration, initially at the Horní Lideč branch of the Customs Office. He served as an officer and later Deputy Director at the Olomouc Customs Directorate from 2003 and headed the directorate from 2005. He then held the positions of Deputy Director General for Economic Affairs and Deputy Director General for Operations at the General Directorate of Customs. From 2017 to 2019, he was First Deputy Director General. Since 2019, he has worked at the Fire Rescue Service of the Olomouc Region, where he heads the Operations and Asset Management Unit.
