Methodological information
ARAD provides methodological information for each indicator to help you understand its meaning, construction and calculation.
This information is available directly in the data display window, whether a table or chart, on the Indicators tab.
Unit
The unit is a basic piece of methodological information. It specifies how an indicator is measured, for example in percentages, millions of CZK or as an index.
The unit is shown:
- in the indicator details,
- in table and chart labels,
- in all exported outputs.
Frequency
Each indicator has a frequency specifying how often its time series is updated, for example daily, monthly, quarterly or annually.
The frequency appears in the indicator details and may affect how the series looks when compared with other indicators.
Methodology sheet
Expanding the indicator details may provide access to a methodology sheet in PDF format.
A methodology sheet usually describes a broader group of indicators in the same domain and includes:
- the indicator’s definition and economic meaning,
- data sources and collection methods,
- the indicator’s calculation or construction,
- methodological changes and notes on historical data,
- any exceptions or publication specifics.
Methodology sheets may cover groups of indicators with the same base and dimensions rather than a single indicator.

Navigation tree and dimensional description
The indicator details also contain:
- the indicator’s location in the tree,
- its basic description,
- its complete dimensional description: the base and individual dimensions that make up its name.
