Biography

Jan Frait joined the Czech National Bank in 2000 and served as Bank Board member in 2000–2006. Between 2007 and 2022 he was responsible for systemic risk analyses and macroprudential policy in the Czech National Bank acting as executive director of the Financial Stability Department since 2010. He represented the Czech National Bank in the Banking Supervision Committee of the ECB, the Financial Stability Committee of the ECB and the Advisory Technical Committee of the ESRB. In 2022 he was appointed the Deputy Governor of the Czech National Bank. His prime area of responsibility is prudential supervision of the financial market.
