CNB representative re-elected as member of EIOPA management
Executive Director of the CNB’s Financial Market Supervision Department Zuzana Silberová was re-elected as one of the seven members of the Management Board of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) on 26 November 2020. This will be her second term in office.
The re-election of Zuzana Silberová builds on her recent work on the management board of this European institution. Her second term starts on 4 December 2020 with a mandate for another two and a half years. Within EIOPA, Ms Silberová is also a member of the Supervisory Steering Committee, the Policy Steering Committee and the Mediation Panel.
“The re-election of a representative of the CNB shows how the reputation and quality of our financial market supervision is perceived in Europe and that we are able – thanks to our experience and high standards for the conduct of supervision – to contribute to the functioning of supervision at the European level too,” said CNB Deputy Governor Tomáš Nidetzký, who is responsible for overseeing the Financial Market Supervision Department in the Bank Board, in response to Ms Silberová’s election.
Zuzana Silberová, Ph.D., CIA, has been at the helm of the Financial Market Supervision Department since 2017. She graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Masaryk University in Brno and the University of Economics in Prague. She also completed a certified long-term training programme at the Czech Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA). She has worked in the CNB since 1994.
