CNB launches new website

As from today, the Czech National Bank’s website has a more modern look and upgraded functionality. New graphics coupled with responsive design enable better browsing through the site’s content, which actively adjusts to end users’ devices when it displays. The new https://www.cnb.cz website also has enhanced security, completely new/improved functions and a clearer structure. This should make it easier for users to navigate through the central bank’s information-rich website.

“The aim of redesigning the website was to create a modern and clear presentation of the central bank with an emphasis on security. The website is the CNB’s main external communication tool and we wanted to use it to provide information to the public and the media in an even more effective and attractive way than before,” said Markéta Fišerová, Director of the Communications Division and CNB Spokesperson.

The new website is based on support for responsive design, which adjusts the look and functionality of the site depending on whether the user views it on a computer, tablet or mobile phone.

The website also has a more secure editorial system and strictly requires the HTTPS protocol for secure communication between the CNB server and user devices.

Search is newly based on a solution focused on integrating and processing large volumes of data. This greatly enhances the logic and relevance of search results.

The option to select and administer pages for which users receive update notifications by e-mail is maintained. The option of simple content sharing through social networks has been added to selected sections, reflecting current communication trends.

The revamped CNB website was designed by FG Forrest, which won a tender organised by the CNB. The technical solution was supplied by Nelasoft.
