Access to CCR information

CCR participants have access to:

  • the total credit commitments of clients (information on the total commitments of each client vis-a-vis banks in the Czech Republic) = the total values of loan receivables from clients, including past-due debt, broken down by receivable type; the aggregated form of the information rules out the possibility of localisation of an individual client's commitments toward specific CCR participants,
  • the database of information provided to the CCR = all own data entered into the database by the CCR participant.

Information is available on the current status and history of the records in the CCR database.

Provided that they adhere to the conditions prescribed for access to CCR information, CCR participants can make daily on-line enquiries regarding new or existing clients. Also available to each CCR participant is a monthly survey of the credit commitments of all its own clients.

The processing of the credit information in the CNB's database and the use of that information by the specified group of CCR participants is regulated by Act No. 21/1992 on Banks, as amended (Article 38a) (pdf, 192 kB).

Detailed rules on access to information by CCR participants are set forth in:

The CCR contains information subject to banking secrecy. Disclosure of information from the database to a legally recognised CCR participant is not deemed a breach of banking secrecy. However, the CCR participant is required to treat any information on the clients of another participant acquired from the CCR database as if it were information on its own clients.

Under the Act on Banks, any client about whom relevant information is held in the CCR has the right to demand an extract from the register.
