Basic indicators of the financial market sectors
The Czech National Bank regularly publishes basic information on individual financial market sectors. In this way it gives experts and the general public access to basic quantitative data on the size, financial condition and prudential business of banks, credit unions, insurance companies, investment firms, management companies, collective investment funds and pension funds.
The aggregated data for the individual financial market sectors are given in time series for the group of entities active in the last reporting period and are based on statements and reports submitted to the Czech National Bank by individual entities. Their scope, frequency and above all date of submission depend on the duties stipulated by laws and decrees and differ for the individual sectors. The data are therefore updated differently for the individual sectors.
The presentation also includes methodological notes which clarify the approaches used to process the data, the content of some lesser-known indicators, etc. The methodological notes also explain some differences in the information provided in other CNB publications, which therefore deserve special attention. We also recommend that users take note of the dates of data updates, which may also explain such differences. Reporting entities often revise the data submitted, usually as a consequence of external audits. The CNB does not provide further details on specific data.
