According to Decree No. 307 Coll. of 4 May 2004 concerning the submitting of information and documents to the Czech National Bank by entities that belong to the financial institution sector, financial corporations engaged in lending are financial institutions included in subsectors S.123 - Other financial intermediaries incorporated in the Companies Register with objects of business activity that mostly fall within other financial intermediation in the Industrial Classification of Economic Activities (CZ-NACE 65.2) and which are predominantly engaged in granting credit or loans or entering into agreements of a similar nature, for example financial leasing, factoring, consumer credit and hire purchase, including foreign persons engaged in similar business activities within the territory of the Czech Republic through organisational units of their businesses.

Financial corporations engaged in lending given in this list are subject to obligations pursuant to Article 6 of Decree No. 307/2004 Coll. on the submission of information and documents to the Czech National Bank by entities belonging to the financial institutions sector.

Statistics on financial corporations engaged in lending is compiled for the corporations included in the list in a breakdown to three main groups according to their main activity

• Financial leasing companies - provide financial leasing services
• Other lending companies - grant credits or loans, including consumer credit, credit-card credit and hire purchase
• Factoring and forfaiting companies - companies engaged in granting factoring and forfaiting services
