Pursuant to its legal obligation to control payment systems and pursuant to Article 6(2) of Decree No. 169/2011 Coll.(pdf, 303 kB, available in Czech only), the Czech National Bank issues the Rules for the Issuance and Administration of the Directory of Payment System Codes in the Czech Republic. The payment system codes are assigned to banks, credit unions and possibly other payment services providers providing payment services in the Czech Republic.

On the basis of these Rules, the CNB issues the “Directory of Payment System Codes in the Czech Republic”, abbreviated as “ČKPS Direcotry” or “ČKPS”.
