Distribution of CZK 20 coins featuring the founders of the state ended on 30 October

30 Oct 2018

The Czech National Bank ended the exchange of the CZK 20 coins featuring the portraits of the founders of the state on 30 October. This happened at all seven regional offices of the CNB between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., as the stocks of this issue became exhausted.

The Czech National Bank is very pleased at the extraordinary interest of the public in this contribution to the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the independent state. At the same time, it ensures the public that the exchange of the CZK 20 coins featuring portraits of T. G. Masaryk, E. Beneš and M. R. Štefánik at its offices was not the last chance to obtain the coins. Beyond the scope of the current issue, the coins will be minted again next year, when the CNB will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Czechoslovak koruna. It will be possible to purchase these coins in the first half of 2019, in an extraordinary set of six special CZK 20 circulating coins together with the CZK 20 coins featuring the portraits of the creators of the Czechoslovak koruna, in particular A. Rašín. These three CZK 20 coins will be issued in late January 2019. The CNB will inform the public about details regarding the number and distribution of the set containing all six special CZK 20 coins as soon as they are decided.
