Acts

Article 98 in Chapter Six of the Constitution of the Czech Republic stipulates that the Czech National Bank is the central bank of the state. The main purpose of its operations shall be to care for price stability. Interventions in its activities are only permissible on the basis of a law.

Acts - list of the major laws the Czech National Bank follows in carrying out its duties.

CNB regulations

The Czech National Bank issues regulations, which are published in full in the Collection of Laws ( Sbírka zákonů - available in Czech language at the website of Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic). It also issues provisions and official information documents, which are promulgated in the Bulletin of the Czech National Bank ( Věstník). All the printed issues of the Bulletin are available for inspection at the CNB Special Library.

The CNB would like to point out that the sole authentic wording of legal regulations is the wording published in printed form in the Collection of Laws or in the Bulletin of the Czech National Bank.

Since 2001, the Bulletin has also been published on-line in PDF format. Only selected regulations are translated into English as needed; the English text is a working material for information only, and is not an official translation of the Czech legislation.
