Branches

Each branch of the Czech National Bank represents the CNB in its regions and is the point of contact for the CNB's communications with representatives of banks, authorities of the state administration, the Czech Statistical Office, financial authorities, institutions and selected clients. The branch is responsible in particular for managing money reserves; maintaining the accounts of the state budget and other branch clients; making payments; conducting foreign exchange inspections and collecting data on exchange office operations; conducting administrative proceedings to the defined extent; acquiring, checking and processing data for business surveys; and for performing its own financial accounting.

301 -Money Reserves Administration Division - services for the public:
- cash operations for commercial banks and other clients in Czech koruna and foreign exchange cash operations for selected clients
- sale and purchase of gold and silver coins and other collectables for the public and selected clients
- providing compensation for worn-out, incomplete, invalid or mutilated money
- training on recognising the genuineness of banknotes and coins in the region
302 -Payment System and Accounting Division - services for the public:
-maintaining the accounts of the state budget, clients and special clients of the CNB
- effecting payments and settlement on the accounts maintained by the branch
- issuing payment instruments for clients (cheques, payment cards, collections)
- consultancy and methodological activities in the area of banking accounting and payments vis-a-vis clients, banks, regional authorities and other entities
303 - Economic Administration Division - services for the public:
- conducting foreign exchange inspections of non-bank entities
- providing opinions on applications for exchange office licences, exercising oversight and foreign exchange inspections of entities carrying on exchange office activities
- providing opinions for law enforcement authorities, civil proceedings authorities and other administrative entities
- conducting administrative proceedings regarding the granting of foreign exchange licences to sell foreign currency for the Czech currency
